The Penn Battle IV Spinning Reels are equipped with all of the same industry leading technologies that made the Battle III a fan favorite. These features include CNC machined gearing, the HT-100 carbon fiber drag washers, and a rigid full metal reel body. Penn raises the bar for durability and longevity with the Battle IV by implementing the Hydro Armor System. This feature incorporates strategically positioned seals to safeguard key areas of the reel. • CNC Gear Technology - Gears are crafted from high-grade metals and precisely machined using CNC technology to deliver a highly durable, yet exceptionally smooth gear train.

• Machined Aluminum/Brass Gears - Sizes 1000 - 5000 feature a machined aluminum main gear. Sizes 6000 - 10000 feature a machined brass main gear. All sizes feature a brass pinion.

• Hydro Armor System - This technology strategically positions seals at critical points to better guard the reel against saltwater intrusion and corrosion, enhancing its durability and long term performance.

• HT-100 Carbon Fiber Drag Washers - These drag washers provide smooth, consistent drag pressure under heavy loads with enhanced long term durability.

• 5+1 Sealed Stainless Steel Ball Bearing System - Enhance smooth operation by reducing friction and increases longevity by protecting against saltwater penetration.

• Line Capacity Rings - Markers on spool are placed at 1/3, 2/3, and full capacity so you always have an idea of how much line you have left on your spool.
